A question for the Moderator.
Can I post ANY book I've finished reading?
Does the book have to be on the A list?

I finished The Complete Works of E. A. Poe
"Another Fine Myth" by R. Asprin.
"The Crack in the Cosmic Egg " by J. C. Pearce.
I read for fun and I read for knowledge and I read just because I can.

What is the A list, Snert?
Well, maybe if you reviewed the manual of your DVD player, that would not be very interesting for the rest of us, but... Let's see what Bink thinks about this..; )

    My vote would be

'Can I post ANY book I've finished reading? ' Yep

'Does the book have to be on the A list? ' NO !!!

Of course you can post about any book you want.

I didn't even know there was a definitive list of A list books.

Well, my reading is ecletic and my users manual for my ISO burner might be interesting for me.
So might be the ingredients list on the cans food comes in.

MHO, what you read is what your curious about.
Inquiring minds - are they dangerous minds?.
I am seriously awed, flat out spackdazzled, by all the information out there. Before the 'net, there was the local library.
BOOKS! OMG! About anything and everything! All you had to do was find one, open it and read to your heart was content..
Now, all have you do is type what you're looking for in your search engine and Bingo!, providing you have access to the 'net.
I still like curling up with a book in hand and a cat in lap with a candle flickering.

Oh yeah, the 'A list'! The majority prefered reading list.
      But who decides?

      >>Here's an unabashed solicitation.<<
I need $75,000 to $80,000 for a hip joint repair/replacement. Any and all contributions accepted.
A prayer to the God of your choice, a candle lit for me, large vulgar sums of money, whatever.

Why don't you just wait for Obama's public health insurance?
Yeah, and the internet is awesome. My private library providing endless fun, for unlimited exploring. But still, there is nothing like the peaceful feeling of disappearing into the world of a book.

Well the tribe description, which predates me, is "list books.." so things you post about should probably be at least book like. A tech manual would probably count an ingredient label would not. Just use your judgment. Worst case is we will have an annoying discussion about why something is or isn't a valid topic. I don't like to make unnecessary rules, because there isn't much of a point in having rules if you don't need them.

I read a lot of stuff that I'm guessing no one on here is interested in or is not worth reviewing. I doubt anyone wants to discuss a calculus text book or a book on soil testing, so I just don't post about those things. There is also some fiction I read that I don't post about because I don't have anything I consider worthwhile to say about it. But if you really want to, as long as you don't spam the forum and push a bunch of stuff off the front page, go ahead.

How about- non fiction, Bink? It seems, we have been mostly talking about novels.

Yea, non-fiction is fine of course. I'm guessing we mostly talk about novels because novels are typically more enjoyable to read. Non-fiction can be fun too though.
