This has just been made available - I'm sharing it because there are probably many folks who'd like to see the the facts, evidence and primary sources verifying part 1 of the Zeitgeist movie. This book is nearly 600 pages specifically about Egypt. It looks like it's going to be a fascinating book. I can't wait until mine arrives - which should be soon.

  • Um, call me a non-believer or whatever, but the mythology of Horus precedes Jesus Christ's existence by at least two thousand years and probably more. Still, if and when you get the book, I'd be interested in understanding how the authors overcome this linear time conundrum...

I've not looked at the info or anything, but it would be easy to explain this time conundrum by saying that the myth of Horus was in fact a prophecy of Jesus. Or that Jesus was Horus reincarnated again.

I have not seen Zeitgeist. The synopsis I've read of the first part doesn't seem to present anything really new or ground breaking. A lot of different cultures and religions have very similar stories. Especially the really big stories. Maybe it is because they are evolved from the same original stories and have changed as different cultures formed and changed. Or maybe there are just certain stories that the human mind, cross culturally, gravitate towards. Probably a little of both.

We are still retelling the stories of jesus\horus\ogg\whoever. Whether he is a talking lion, Keanu Reeves in black latex and a trench coat, or comes with a 13th wise-cracking apostle, which is a mutation that has been done more then once. Is there something new about it in the book? Or is it just that they have put a lot of information on the subject between two pieces of cardboard?

What time conundrum? The point is that christ never existed, that the story of christ is a retelling of the myth of Horus/Mythris/etc. There is, in fact, no evidence that Christ ever actually existed. The books of the new testament were written 30 to 300+ years after Christ supposedly lived. Christ was not mentioned in any of the Roman chronicles of the period either. Jesus wasn't even his name it's a mistranslation of the Greek name Iusus which in Hebrew is Joshua and in Aramaic it's Yeshua (Joshua/Yeshua meaning son of Joseph). The God who wasn't there? heh The God who never was!

Ah, the book "Christ in Egypt: The Horus-Jesus Connection" is the best book on the subject I've ever read. It has loads of primary sources and loads of a variety of expert/scholar commentary. There are over 2,400 footnotes/citations and over 900 bibliographical references & sources. The author proves with the primary sources to demonstrate that there was a huge Egyptian influence on the much later Christianity. The author provides the best case for a mythical Jesus I've ever seen. And of course, Horus, Isis, Osiris etc were all mythical characters too.

The author has provided a new "Mythicist Position" that takes us far beyond the endless theist vs. atheist debate giving us a 3rd option on page 12 demonstrating that while it IS mythology it is based on natural phenomena i.e. the sun, moon, planets, stars, constellations, water, fire, etc, etc. I now consider myself accepting this new position since these myths are based on real phenomena that actually exists and the evidence is provided in abundance in "Christ in Egypt." I find this mythicist position far MORE fascinating than either the theist or atheist position. It is still an atheist position however atheism alone isn't enough - so one has an "absence of belief" - then what? Well, the "Mythicist Position" fills that monumental vacuum.

Here's the "Christ in Egypt" youtube video - www.youtube.com/watch

Here are the authors other videos - www.truthbeknown.com/videos.html

Here's a review that I liked at Amazon & felt like I agreed & couldn't have said it better myself - I voted on it and you can vote for it too -

"The Best Book on the Subject!" by Charles Johnson "C.J."

"Studying "Christ in Egypt" (CIE) has enabled me to finally understand the Egyptian religion, Christianity, Gnosticism and their roots based in astrotheology or natural phenomena, i.e., the sun, moon, planets, stars, constellations etc. Now, it all makes sense.

CIE is very well written with Acharya's lovely style that I've come to appreciate. It's very scholarly, yet a fascinating read. Certain topics require an indepth analysis which is performed wonderfully throughout the book. Every reference and source is cited meticulously - cross-referencing primary sources 4, 5 and 6 different ways with credentialed scholars in their field of expertise across several languages, including a variety of translations of the ancient texts - WOW!

I found page 12 detailing the "Mythicist Position" outstanding & helpful, taking us far beyond the endless theist vs. atheist debate. CIE provides primary sources such as Horus being born on the winter solstice, Isis referring to herself as the great virgin, and Osiris considered the Christ and many more.

Murdock addresses counter arguments & criticisms throughout the book. She exposes biases and blatant censorship. Until the critics, whether theist or atheist, have studied this book, their opinion is worthless. Good luck to them.

CIE takes this very contentious topic to a whole new level that has the potential to change Egyptology & comparative religion as we know it. She explains the academic gap between theologians and historians. Many universities began as religious divinity schools Harvard, Yale, Princeton - CIE page 505. We need an Astrotheology Department at our universities to fill this monumental void! I wish I'd had Acharya's work available to me as a child.

I originally sought to debunk Acharya's work, but actually studying the massive amount of evidence she provides forced me to reconsider my beliefs. I realize now that I'm far better off for it. I apologize to Acharya for buying into all the lies about her work on the net. CIE is her best work to date and is the perfect response to the anti-Zeitgeist part 1/anti-Acharya cult nonsense.

I'd love to see her work on National Geographic, Discovery and the History Channels and a documentary DVD, as the 100 million Zeitgeist views demonstrate people are starving for this information. Acharya S should be on shows like Oprah, Bill Maher, Daily show and Colbert Report etc.

Acharya/Murdock deserves an award for her hard work and courage. She is the Galileo of our day! "
