I love Arthurian lit and I love the stories of Tristan and Isolde. My younger sister has showed and interest in these stories ever since that stupid and vastly innacurate movie came out a few years ago. I was trying to find something that she'd like and read, she never ever reads, and I came across this first novel of the trilogy by Rosalind Miles. It's definitely written for a young audience and isn't as hard to read as "Morte D'Arthur" but I still think it's too much for her. I found it kinda cheesy too, but I did like it!

Tue, November 13, 2007 - 7:34 AMIs this better than the Guinevere books? Didn't love those like I wanted to at all and I am a huge fan of Miles. -

Re: Isolde: Queen of the western Isle
Tue, November 13, 2007 - 10:20 AMI haven't read the Guenevere series, and in light of the differences between Miles' Guenevere and Marion Zimmer Bradley's Guenevere, I don't think I would...
But I still want to know more, does anyone else know? -

Re: Isolde: Queen of the western Isle
Tue, November 13, 2007 - 10:34 AMYes it is a big difference between Marion's Guinnevere and Miles's Guinnevere.
Altough it is not as much the difference in Guinnevere's portraial as the difference in Morgan's portraial.
But I liked both takes on the Arthurian legend. -
