I am halfway through The Idiot Girl and the Flaming Tantrum of Death, and I swear I cannot make it through two pages without seriously laughing out loud, which makes secretly reading at my work desk perilous.

I started out with The Idiot Girls' Action-Adventure Club, and I think it might be possible I like her as much, if not better sometimes, than David Sedaris. It depends on whether or not I also feel crying, in which case I will opt for Sedaris.

I just reread Steven Hawkings, "A Brief History of Time."
And find myself, again, wondering about a black hole evaporating leaving behind a naked singularity. WTF?
I just can't seem to wrap my mind around that.

Me either. What on earth is a naked singluarity? I read that book too...

Whoi would have ever thought, Hawking has a sense of humour and places bets with his rival researchers with a one year Hustler subscription for stakes?

Astrid, hopefully, there is nothing on earth like a naked sigularity. Think about that for a minute or two.

And why wouldn't he have a sense of humor?
Seems to me that a years subscription to Hustler would be an incentive.

His mind is in a body that don't work all that good, but that mind is top-notch.
I wonder, is Mother making things even? Here, there's a mind that's Grade AAAA in a body that doesn't work that good.

          Balance?

Oh, there are two things you can infer that everybody resents.
          1. You don't have a sense of humor.
          2. You have never seen trouble.

A well balanced mind will find humor in midst of trouble.

Yeah, I did not know the word "singularity" either. But I was too proud to admit that. Hehe. ; )

How can there be more than one singularity?

              Evaporating black holes? WTF?
              I thought they sucked .
A gravity well that was so deep that nothing got out, even light.
We won't go into that here, ok? It's bog-mindling , more so if you're crusing on illegal drugs.

How can something be unique if there's more than one. Ok, I can't argue that each 'singularity' is different due to how and where,
But ' singularity' means 'single" as in, there's no others.
A singularity, what's left over after a block hole evaporates. An infinate density? How can that exist?
Yeah I know about the 'event horison' where you spend the rest of eternity falling into a black hole and into anothrer universe but why?
                  Is there a forever?
I get boggled trying to comprehend stuff like this.
Please, don't try to explain it to me, now,. I'm tired and I need to rest.
                  Later y'all.

Has anyone read Erica Jong, "How to save your own life"? ; )

Has anyone read "How to peddle your personal agenda pretending to do something else"? Or How about Dale Carnegie, "How to win friends and influence people", that one exists, at least.
May I suggest the short attention span tribe for thos who are not into literature?

If you learned your unique technique of making friends from Carnegie I think I can safely avoid that one.

If you are accusing me of having the personal agenda of heaping kudos upon a book I thought was really funny, then yes. I suppose I am guilty. I thought that is what this Tribe is for? I find your comments mean spirited and it makes me sad.
