Incredible! Absolutely incredible! It was one of those random book store buys and I'm glad I got it. It's beautifully written and amazingly researched. I highly recommend it to anyone who has a love of historical fiction and strong heroines.
I'm now reading Galilee by Clive Barker and I can't put it down!

I loved Galilee, so lyrical. I never re-read it so I don't know how it stands up.
    • I've never read Galilee,I've always prefered his short stories, with the exception of 'ColdHeart Canyon' that one I loved. As for 'The Memoirs of Helen of Troy', I had read it a few years ago, loved it and could never remember the title right nor the author,I kept confusing it with Margret George's 'Helen of Troy',and though it too is excellenct this one was quite different and certain scenes stick in my mind.At least now I hope I can find it again to reread it.

Yeah, Margaret George is one of my faves! But this one definitely had a more magical feel to it. It had such a great intermingling of historical fiction and mythological fact.
Galilee was fantastic, by the way. I couldn't put it down at all. I've been trying to work my way through all of Barkers books. Imajica was and is my favorite of his.
